Door of Perception

For dVerse  OpenLinkNight – Week 25

A one dimensional
insurance policy
to keep the alley out,
filled with self-importance
to appease popular fears,
a burly show of border control
to guard against
invasions of others

Local ants
with twiggy feet
slip into the cracks,
kids with spray cans
leave their scent
behind the front screen door
safely locked.

  1. Take a locked door; then put a kid in front of the door….this is what happens! You know it; I know it; but you know how to put it into words…locked doors.. a mere exercise in cunning for a kid. Liked the write!

  2. interesting look at life through a ”bowdlerized insurance policy” ….like those ants with twiggy feet. and the kids w/spray cans…very interesting piece. and a very good write.
