Volcano

Too long dictators let the masses bleed
Over a volcano crackles lightning
Increasing repression sows a  seed
Too long dictators let the masses bleed
Gunmen with  rubber bullets intercede
The tyrants’ fists of fear are tightening
Too long dictators let the masses bleed
Over a volcano crackles lightning

  1. This poem has an amazing visual dynamic. A boiling volcano on the verge of massive eruption. A seed inside that will respond to a lightning strike. And an army with rubber bullets stationed on top to hold it all in…

I’m always amazed at how much can be said in just a few lines, but then when the words rhyme and fit in perfect meter, well then I’m just jealous (but in a good way.)

My hat’s off to you Marousia. A very fine poem.
