Traffic

Beautiful girls
wearing
gauntlets and masks,
keeping
pollution and
sunshine
at bay,
Sitting astride
Or side saddle,
No matter
how crowded
the streets
in Saigon,
there is always
air in between
for flirting
on bikes.

  1. I really like the image of the masked and gloved bikeriders managing to transcend their concealment. The minimal form and quiet voice of the poem serve the little narrative perfectly.

  2. Lovely! I got a chuckle out of this….and how much the human drive to flirt arises regardless of circumstances….

    LOL!

The imagery is magnificent, though simply worded.

    Loved this poem.
